Area Description:

Pézenas is an attractive market town. Once the prosperous seat of the ruling council of Languedoc with a busy cultural life that attracted some of the great writers and thinkers of the day, the centre of the town with its elaborate mansions has hardly changed since the 16th century
Area Activities
There is a wonderful Saturday morning market full of fresh local produce, sometimes plants and flowers, cheeses, meats and seafood, and of course wine. There are cafés and bistros, a variety of shops, antiques shops where you can often find a bargain and, in the oldest part of town, several craft shops.
You have a lot of activities nearby, such as golf, riding, sailing, fishing, walking (Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc et Caroux), beaches, ....
and also a lot of very famous towns to visit: Beziers and le "canal du Midi", Sete, Montpellier, Abbeys: Fontfroide, Valmagne, St Guilhem le Desert, etang de Thau, Carcassonne and the Cathare castles,....
